Não foi só a comunidade a pedir que este bug fosse resolvido rapidamente, mas também alguns jogadores profissionais fizeram este pedido, pelo que a VALVE optou por retirar a opção de marcar jogadores adversários com o sistema de pings.

Este não foi o único bug a ser resolvido nesta atualização, com a VALVE a resolver o bug de som onde era reproduzido o barulho de passos errado em algumas superfícies.
Para além da correção destes erros, foram feitas alterações aos mapas Anubis, Engage, Apollo e Frostbite.

– Pings no longer highlight players. This eliminates any instances of being able to reveal a hidden enemy.
– Fixed a bug which caused the incorrect footstep sounds to be played on some surfaces.
– Fixed short-handed bonus being given in Guardian mode.
– Fixed visual shuffle in map vote at end of match.
